Sun Sets On South America

The sun sets on South America
and ripens fruit
fruit that's left for animals
that is out of reach

Begun is the baking heat                      Rockets take off
waking all the creatures                        from French Guyana
in every day repeat                                make the jungles small
the same
its a natural                                            Fires burn
continual game                                      to elevation turn                      Brazil
to the continent's gain                            like monkeys                           Brazil hill
leap up tree                              can see 9 countries
The sun sets on South America             Rockets shake off                    that border it
and in rainforests grow                           gravity                                    Brazil in
unusual crops of treetops                       lift above all                            the center sit
sloth food in a row                                                                                 of South America
                                                                Jungles seem
                                                                 less than tall                           Center stone
Its not for us to take it                             against the halls                       of the fruit
from the animals up there                        of Space                                  largest nation
those that scale the tall trunks                  considerably                           beyond refute
those born to dare
                                                                 Silver disc                               Don't compute
                                                                 amongst the growth                 with Spanish
The sun sets                                              from where the astronauts      speak Portuguese
and begun is nite life again                       stoweth                                   Brazil
the forests wake up                                                                                   on the beach
with the moon                                           Rockets shake                         take yor ease
that opens the door                                    the jungles there
to the outdoor room                                   but monkeys                           Central
                                                                   do not care.                             South America
Its not for us                                                                                               Brazil
the people thus                                                                                            Is it
we never go                                                                                                Cross the border
thru the twisty branched                                                                             to many nations
forest window                                                                                             from Brazil
                                                                                                                    every bit
The sun sets on South America                                                                  Largest star
but its then that grow                                                                                  of the continent
the noises in the forest                                                                                 to other countries
of the nite goers so.                                                                                      sent
                                                                                                                    citizens across the
                                                                                                                    borders
                                                                                                                     they do not prevent.
